Gary Smith

Gary Smith, Operations Director
Gary Smith, an outstanding business graduate, joined Key in 2004. Having started his career in sales, he already had a natural customer focus, and an instinct for developing new business. Following 3 years in the outsourced payroll industry, he had gathered a wealth of experience, covering the areas of technical support and customer service. Gary is also an expert on tax legislation for freelance workers, including UK and other European legislation. Gary spent some time overseeing and advising IT freelancers on local tax legislation issues during their postings abroad.

With extensive knowledge of the IT payroll sector, Gary was primarily contracted by Key to introduce a new umbrella product to the company’s growing payroll services. Having joined Key at an early growth stage, Gary became instrumental in specifying and implementing the technology and systems which were to take the company from budding start-up to fully fledged, and leading edge, payroll provider. Gary was appointed Operations Director in early 2006, charged with taking Key to the next level in terms of outstanding service and support for both freelancers and agencies. Gary is an important figurehead of the business, responsible for on-going product development and operational processes.
